In the Netherlands, tens of billions of euros are laundered every year. This money mainly originates from drug trafficking and fraud. By laundering money, criminals are able to introduce illegally obtained funds into the legitimate economy. Tackling money laundering practices is therefore an essential part of the fight against crime in general.
The Wwft – de Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme, which translates to Law to prevent money laundering and financing terrorism - is key in safeguarding the integrity of the financial markets. In this context, accountants are assigned a role as gatekeepers, which means that your role with regard to the Wwft is an important one. In this course, C.M. Verdiesen AA will guide you through the Wwft on the basis of the revised NBA-Handreiking 1124.

C.M. Verdiesen AA is zelfstandig gevestigd docent en bekleedde diverse functies binnen de NOvAA en de NBA. Hij verzorgt cursussen die de gehele beroepsreglementering omvatten met het accent op de mkb-praktijk zoals VGBA, Wwft, NV COS, verslaggeving, tuchtrecht en kwaliteitssystemen. De nadruk ligt hierbij altijd op de praktische invulling van deze regels in het kantoor. Hij is plaatsvervangend lid bij de Accountantskamer in Zwolle en ondersteunt kantoren bij het voldoen aan wet- en regelgeving. Carel Verdiesen is 20 jaar zelfstandig gevestigd accountant geweest en is een aantal jaren verantwoordelijk geweest voor de accountancy vaktechniek bij een groot kantoor. Daardoor heeft hij ervaring met beroepsreglementering en kwaliteitssystemen van zowel kleine als grotere kantoren.
